Eight NGX shares as they closed on 6 November

Each row is one reading of the board: the close, the change it prints, and the 52-week low and high. The position is (close − low) ÷ (high − low), 0 at the low and 100 at the high. A change of 0.00% means the price did not move on the day. Companies on this board: NB, BUAFOODS, SEPLAT, PRESCO, OKOMUOIL, DANGSUGAR, WEMABANK, FIDELITYBK.

What this dividend diary is

A dividend diary lists who pays, how much, and on which dates. This one lists the Nigerian Exchange's own dividend notices, 32 of them from 9 July 2026 to 3 November 2026, each with its company, date, title and a link, and explains how a dividend works. It also carries eight companies, NB, BUAFOODS, SEPLAT, PRESCO, OKOMUOIL, DANGSUGAR, WEMABANK, FIDELITYBK, with their close of 6 November 2026 and their 52-week range.

What it does not do is read the amounts and dates inside the notices, calculate a yield or recommend a share. Those figures are in the notices, which are linked.

The chain from announcement to bank account

A company announces an amount per share and two dates. The registrar reads the register on the qualification date. On the payment date the registrar pays the bank account named in the holder's e-dividend mandate, net of withholding tax.

A holder who has no mandate on file risks a late or missed payment, and a dividend left uncollected is eventually passed to a register of unclaimed dividends.

Reading the title of a notice

Titles are short and say what kind of notice it is. For example, “Interim Dividend Currency Exchange Rates” (AIRTELAFRI, 3 November 2026) is about currency exchange rates for an interim dividend, which matters to a holder when the dividend is declared in one currency and paid in another. It is not the announcement of the dividend itself.

“Corporate Action Announcement On Interim Dividend” is an announcement: it is the one that carries the amount per share and the dates. Words to watch for: announcement, notification, currency exchange rate, scrip, unclaimed, policy.

Scrip dividends and the reference price

Some companies offer a scrip dividend: shares instead of cash, or a choice between them. When they do, a reference price is set at which the dividend is converted into shares, and the exchange publishes a notice about it; a notice of that kind from STANBIC is among those listed here.

The reference price decides how many shares a given dividend buys. It is in the notice; this site does not read it.

Notices by month

Count of notices in the list by the month they were published: July 2026: 14; August 2026: 5; September 2026: 3; October 2026: 9; November 2026: 1.

Dividend notices cluster around results and around interim payments, so a month with many is not a sign that more companies are paying; it can be one company publishing several notices about the same dividend. 23 different tickers appear in the 32 notices, so several companies published more than one.

What the notices are

The list mixes kinds: 23 announcements, 3 exchange-rate notices, 2 scrip-dividend items, 2 about unclaimed dividends and 2 about policy. A notice about an exchange rate is not an announcement of a payment.

Open a notice for the amount and dates; this site does not print them.

The day on the board

On 6 November 2026, 0 of the 8 companies closed higher, 4 lower and 4 unchanged. The biggest rise on the board was BUAFOODS (0.00%) and the biggest fall FIDELITYBK (−3.51%). Several lines read 0.00%: the close equals the previous close, which on this exchange is common for shares that traded little or not at all.

Nearest its 52-week high is SEPLAT (position 100.0 of 100); nearest its low is NB (23.3). The widest 52-week spread is SEPLAT's, whose high is 185 percent above its low; the narrowest is BUAFOODS's, at 40 percent.

Sectors and boards on this page

The exchange labels every company with a sector and with the board it trades on. Here, 3 companies in Consumer Goods, 2 companies in Agriculture, 2 companies in Financial Services, 1 company in Oil And Gas; by board, 7 on the Main Board, 1 on the Premium Board. The labels are the exchange's; this site adds none of its own, because the sector labels of the other source it reads are not reliable.

A sector label tells you what group the exchange files a company under. It does not say how the company is doing, and two companies in one sector can have very different year ranges: on this board the spreads between the 52-week low and high run from 40 to 185 percent.

Five questions the board answers

01

Which share closed highest on the day? — BUAFOODS, at 0.00%; FIDELITYBK was weakest at −3.51%. The day's moves are small against the year's ranges.

02

Which is nearest its yearly high? — SEPLAT, at 100.0 on the 0 to 100 scale, with a close of ₦16,000.1 against a high of ₦16,000.1.

03

Which is nearest its yearly low? — NB, at 23.3, closing at ₦70 against a low of ₦60.

04

How many did not move? — On this site's board (NB, BUAFOODS, SEPLAT, PRESCO, OKOMUOIL, DANGSUGAR, WEMABANK, FIDELITYBK): 4 of 8 show a change of exactly 0.00%. The board does not say whether anything traded in them.

05

What would 1,000 shares of the dearest cost? — SEPLAT closed at ₦16,000.1, so 1,000 shares come to ₦16,000,100, before fees and taxes.

Why there is no chart tonight

There is no price chart on this site tonight. Charts need a year of daily closes, and the one source asked for them, Yahoo Finance, refused every request on 6 November 2026. Drawing a line from the 52-week low and high alone would be inventing the path between them.

So the pages carry what was read: the close, the change, the range and the position in it. When daily bars can be read, a chart, a month-end table and the longer changes will be added, each with its own date.

What the figures are checked against

Two readings are compared before anything is written. The exchange's board supplies the close and the previous close; the screener's price and its day change must agree with those to within half a percent, or the record is not saved.

Range figures have no second reading. To trust the checker, seven faults are planted on purpose (a moved close, a flipped range, a wrong sector among them), and the check must catch each one.

Naira and kobo

The board quotes naira per share, to the kobo where the price has one. Prices run from a few naira to many thousands on the same exchange, and that spread says nothing about which company is bigger: it reflects how many shares each has issued.

What a buyer needs is shares times price. On this board 10 shares of NB cost ₦700, and 10 of FIDELITYBK cost ₦233.5; commission and taxes come on top.

FxPro and Nigerian shares are different things

A word on the one commercial link here. It leads to FxPro, which sells contracts for difference. That is a contract about a price, not ownership of a share: no CSCS record, no register entry, no dividend from the company. FxPro has no Nigerian licence and does not offer the Nigerian-listed companies this board shows.

Read the FxPro page of this site first; it says the same at more length.

How wide a year is, company by company

The 52-week spread is how far the high sits above the low, as a percentage of the low: NB 72 percent; BUAFOODS 40 percent; SEPLAT 185 percent; PRESCO 62 percent; OKOMUOIL 70 percent; DANGSUGAR 86 percent; WEMABANK 111 percent; FIDELITYBK 42 percent.

Spread measures how much room the year used. It does not tell a climb from a slide, so it is read together with the position of the close in the range, not instead of it.

The day's moves, by comparison, are between −3.51% and 0.00%: a few percent at most, against yearly spreads of tens or hundreds of percent.

How to use the board without being misled by it

Treat every figure here as a dated reading. A close is a past price, a position in a range describes and does not predict, and one day's change is small beside the year's range.

Before you act on any figure, set it beside the live price on your broker's screen and the exchange's own board.

Questions a dividend investor should settle

Which date decides who is paid, and how many trading days before it must a purchase be made? Is the company's registrar holding your bank details? What rate of withholding tax applies to you? Is the dividend final or interim, and has it been approved by shareholders?

The company's notice and your broker answer these for a given company.

Words used on this site

Dividend: a payment of part of profit per share. Declaration: the announcement of it. Qualification date: the day the register decides who is paid. Registrar: the firm that keeps the register and pays. E-dividend mandate: the instruction naming the bank account for electronic payment.

Scrip dividend: shares offered instead of cash. Withholding tax: tax taken at source before payment. Unclaimed dividend: one not collected, passed on to a separate register. Close, change, 52-week range and position are defined on the method page.

A trading account

A CFD account is not the same as holding shares

The guides on this site describe buying shares through a local broker and a CSCS account. If you open a CFD account with an international broker, you hold a price contract, not the share itself. Read the contract terms before you rely on any dividend adjustment.
